About the workshop
Enjoy the learning Pattachitra Painting " Goddess Gayatri In Pattachitra Painting" form using traditional motifs and techniques with national awardee artist Mr. Bhaskar Mohapatra
Pattachitra is an ancient art form from Odisha, India, dating back to the 12th century. Artists, called Chitrakars, use 100% natural colors from conch shells and minerals to create intricate paintings on various surfaces like cloth, palm leaves, wood, and jewelry. The art depicts Hindu mythological stories, particularly around Lord Jagannath, Vaishnavism, and local folk tales, reflecting Odia tradition. Evolving, Pattachitra adapted to British and European tastes in the 19th century, preserving its rich legacy with vibrant colors and intricate details, offering a captivating visual representation of Odia culture.
Goddess Gayatri In Pattachitra Painting: The Gayatri mantra holds a special place in our Hindu culture. Goddess Gayatri, also known as Ved Mata, represents the essence of the Vedas. Goddess Gayatri might be portrayed sitting gracefully on a lotus. The image of her, adorned with multiple arms each holding symbolic items like a book representing knowledge and a rosary symbolizing devotion, would encapsulate her divine attributes perfectly. Her serene expression would convey a sense of inner peace and profound wisdom, reflecting her role as the bestower of spiritual enlightenment and cosmic energy. Such a depiction would capture the essence of Goddess Gayatri and resonate deeply with viewers, inviting them to connect with her divine presence and teachings.
