About the workshop

Create a beautiful "Gopala: Protector of the Cows " in Madhubani painting. Learn from our native master artist, Ms. Hema Devi, a national award-winning artist from Bihar. She will teach the techniques and motifs of the art form and help you create a beautiful painting characterized by its bold colours and intricate designs.

Madhubani Painting - Madhubani painting, originating from Bihar, India, is a traditional folk art known for its vibrant colors and intricate patterns. Artists use natural dyes and depict Hindu mythology, nature, and daily life scenes. The paintings often feature bold outlines and geometric shapes, creating a unique and visually striking style. Madhubani art has gained international recognition for its cultural richness and storytelling through vivid visuals.

Gopala: Protector of the Cows:  This Madhubani painting beautifully depicts Lord Krishna standing gracefully at the center while playing his flute, surrounded by sacred cows that symbolize purity and devotion. The cows are shown in a circular, protective formation, emphasizing Krishna’s role as the divine cowherd and nurturer of all beings. The use of bold outlines and intricate linear patterns is a hallmark of the Madhubani style, giving the artwork a rhythmic and decorative quality. The richly detailed floral and vine motifs in the background reflect the abundance of nature associated with Vrindavan. Krishna’s halo highlights his divine presence and spiritual radiance. The vibrant red, green, and blue border adds a festive and auspicious frame to the scene. Overall, the painting celebrates harmony between nature, animals, and the divine in a joyful and symbolic folk-art expression.
