Ram Sita Jaimal": A central theme in Madhubani painting is the depiction of the divine couple, Ram and Sita, often with Jaimal. These paintings are characterized by their intricate details, vibrant colors, and symbolic motifs drawn from nature. Jaimal, a term referring to the ceremonial exchange of garlands, is a popular subject, symbolizing the sacred union and marital bliss of Ram and Sita. The artists use traditional techniques, often employing fingers, twigs, brushes, nib pens, and matchsticks to create these elaborate works.
