The Baul or Bauls are a group of mystic minstrels or bards of mixed elements of Sufism and Sahaja from Bengal region, comprising Bangladesh and the Indian states of West Bengal, Tripura and Barak Valley of Assam. They can often be identified by their distinctive clothes and musical instruments such as Iktara - a one stringed plucked drum drone instrument. Some other instruments are Dotara (Long necked fretless flute), dhol, khol, khamak, duggi and manjira.
In this workshop, we recreate this beautiful painting of a Baul singer by Shekhar Roy.
This artwork is finished in 5 modules of 1.15 hours each and you can self pace yourself depending on your skill and experience in sketching, detailing and coloring. Enjoy the making of the artwork and indulge in bringing your personal creations and customization to the artwork.
