Shiva's Cosmic Radiance

About the Workshop

Create a traditional-style Kerala Mural of ‘Shiva's Cosmic Radiance  with master native artist Mr. Saju M.P. He will take you through the process of creating this beautiful painting using the right traditional motifs and techniques.

Shiva's Cosmic Radiance This exquisite Kerala mural painting proficiently portrays Lord Shiva in a potent and dynamic representation, emblematic of the region's venerable artistic tradition. Shiva is depicted with multiple arms, each grasping symbolic aniconic attributes, such as a shankha and a flame, thereby signifying the cosmic cycle of creation, preservation, and dissolution. His ascetic matted jata are graced by a crescent moon and the sacred Ganges River, while a serpent gracefully encircles his neck, further underscoring his austere disposition and ultimate sovereignty over all existence. The intricate delineation of his adornments, vestments, and facial expression, characterized by a serene yet sagacious countenance, exemplifies the meticulous artistry inherent in Kerala mural painting. The emanating flames at the base metaphorically suggest either a cosmic dance or a formidable manifestation, unequivocally affirming Shiva's preeminent status as the supreme deity. This artwork masterfully encapsulates the profound spiritual essence and rich artistic legacy of Kerala.
