Tree of Life: Traditional Phad Painting

Phad Painting or Phad is a style of religious scroll painting and folk painting, practiced in Rajasthan state of India. This style of painting is traditionally done on a long piece of cloth or canvas, known as a phad. The narratives of the folk deities of Rajasthan, mostly of Pabuji and Devnarayan are depicted on the phads.


In this masterclass, we will make a Tree of Life in Phad Style whose concept is closely related to the concept of the sacred tree which represents that everything is interconnected. It symbolizes togetherness and is rooted with the fact we are never alone and are connected to the universe.


This artwork is finished in 6 modules of 1.5 hours each. You can pace yourself depending on your skill and experience in sketching, detailing and colouring. Enjoy the making of the artwork and indulge in bringing your personal creations and customization to the artwork.
